I recently had the opportunity to experience the Volvo FH 500 with its advanced I-Shift Dual Clutch transmission. The smooth shifting mechanism stood out, especially when navigating gradients and sharp turns. The fuel efficiency was commendable, achieving a notable consumption rate even under full load conditions. However, I felt that the cabin could provide slightly enhanced comfort for long hauls.

The FH13's engine performance is commendable; the 12-speed automatic transmission works seamlessly, reducing fatigue during extended drives. The cabin, especially the Globetrotter XL variant, provides excellent living conditions for drivers on multi-day journeys. That said, adjusting to its larger frame made maneuvering in tighter spaces a learning curve for me.

So I've driven the Volvo FH13 460 (2011) for a good while. Cab comfort is solid, proper XL cab, lots of space and even two bunks. Not crazy about the layout of the storage but does the job. The I-Shift gearbox is actually smooth, I use it in auto mostly, flips gears well. Manual mode is there if you want to be more involved, but for most hauls, auto gets it done. Suspension does a decent job eating bumps but yeah, you still feel some shake, not magic or anything. I really like that it’s got a proper fridge and the double beds, handy for long trips. Fuel tanks are big, so less stopping. Service-wise, Volvo parts price could be better but no serious headaches so far. Not a perfect truck but for long hauls, you don’t dread a shift in it.

I’ve spent a good amount of time behind the wheel of a Volvo FH 13. Comfort-wise, it holds up. The ergonomic layout of its dashboard makes accessing controls straightforward; everything is within reach. However, I found the cabin noise levels slightly higher than expected under heavy loads. The dual-sleeper design inside offers good resting options during breaks. Notably, it handles inclines smoothly, thanks to its engine torque. Overall, it’s efficient but it could use better soundproofing.

I used to have a 2005 model with ISX and it never let me down. It consumed oil, but that's normal for Cummins, and the turbo leaked near the actuator, but it still worked. Now I have a 2007 model with FM 440 and it runs just fine, I only had to replace a couple of sensors in the emissions system.

Been using a Volvo FH for a while now. The cab design is decent - heaps of space and thoughtful storage options which make long hauls less grueling. The I-Shift transmission took some getting used to, but once dialed into its nuances, it’s smooth sailing. Fuel economy isn’t its strongest suit, though not as big a deal for certain heavy loads.

I have been driving a Volvo FH 13 (460 hp, Euro 5, automatic) for 2 years now. The mileage is just under 450,000. The fuel consumption is excellent, averaging around 27 liters, even when fully loaded! The automatic transmission works perfectly, and the on-board computer is informative and has a Russian language option. The cabin is particularly pleasing in terms of its spaciousness, with 2 sleeping berths inside. The headlights are top-notch, as one would expect from a European manufacturer. The fog lights provide quality illumination for turns, although they are only effective up to a speed of 40 km/h.

After driving the Volvo FH12 for extensive distances, here's my perspective. The engine offers dependable performance and satisfactory power for most operations. Regarding cabin comfort, the ergonomics are functional, though certain aspects like storage solutions could be more convenient. On the downside, some plastic elements inside feel less premium but remain durable. Road handling is impressive, giving confidence while maneuvering. Overall, a decent truck for long hauls without significant drawbacks.

Sharing my user experience with this model: The driving dynamics stand out, as the suspension soaks up irregularities efficiently, enhancing ride quality. However, I found the standard lighting setup somewhat inadequate during adverse weather conditions, hinting that an upgrade might be worthwhile. The fuel consumption is within acceptable parameters for heavy-duty tasks. Maintenance, if conducted regularly, shouldn't pose major issues. In summary, the vehicle performs admirably in most aspects, though there's room for minor improvements.

I can say that I don't remember any significant drawbacks of this machine during two years of driving. The only issue was with the heater in the sleeper cabin, as the radiator was leaking. I couldn't find the original one, but I solved the problem by replacing it with a radiator from a VAZ 2109. It fits perfectly, although you might have to work a little on connecting the hoses.
