Switched to the latest FH last month, mainly for fuel savings. Doing mostly cross-border hauls. It's not magic or anything, but it really sips diesel less than the older trucks I've driven. I-See works ok, yet sometimes it just coasts when I wouldn't, but savings are there if you let it do its thing. The cab is decent, my back hurts less after long shifts. Did have one error pop up with the cruise, nothing major but irritating when you're used to basic controls. Maintenance seems about average for Volvo, nothing too pricey so far.

Been driving the FH 500 model on and off and did a recent check up. Front suspension is fine, most steering bits are in good shape. Got a touch of oil sweating from the power steering pump, but hell, show me a truck that doesn't have some leak somewhere after a few years. The main thing I noticed is those rear air bags with little cracks. Air leaks are light, but still, if you're hauling a lot or going long distance, that's a thing you want to deal with soon. Annoying spending on stuff like that all the time, but at least easy to spot.

Noise from calipers gets on my nerves a bit, but it's not affecting how it brakes. Bearings are solid, nothing wobbly there. I like how easy it is to check most of this stuff compared to some other brands. Still, with the parts needing swaps, service cost will creep up if you don't pay attention. But overall, she's holding up, not perfect but reliable enough.

Took the Volvo FH 500 on a route test focusing on economy. For a rig this size, the interior is pretty functional, although the narrow windscreen limits forward visibility a bit. The six-cylinder engine handles inclines decently, though the gearbox feels slightly outdated compared to modern setups. Economy mode aids fuel-saving, and braking systems provide sufficient control in varied conditions.

Driving this model on long hauls demonstrated how economical and sturdy modern trucks could be. The I-See functionality paired with advanced gear handling optimizes progression, saving on resources. Noise levels inside the cabin are impressively low. Still, I felt the transition to using its advanced systems might challenge drivers less familiar with tech-heavy equipment.

Had a chance to spend a day in the Volvo FH500 with that dual clutch I-Shift tranny. I gotta admit, I really noticed the difference with shifting, especially on slick and hilly roads. It just rolls right through the gears, not jerky at all, even when loaded heavy. Didn't have to worry much about losing speed on hills or in the city: the system basically handles it. The fuel economy was solid too, I got something close to 27L per 100 and that's with a full load, rain, and heavy traffic. My only gripe is you really have to adjust your driving style, since the eco features want you to lay off the gas and brakes a lot. Reliable so far, and the adaptive cruise with the stars display is kinda neat in congested areas. Not much to say about price, it's not cheap but what is?

Spent a few days driving the FH 500 recently. The fuel efficiency is impressive for a 40-ton load, making operations cost-effective. The cruise control features are alright but could use a bit of refinement.

I drove a fleet model Volvo FH last month. Power delivery was solid, especially with the D13K 460hp engine. Maneuvering wasn’t a problem even when loaded. However, found the seating comfort after extended hours slightly less than perfect, but that’s subjective.

The D13 engine in the Volvo FH 13 proves its worth. Plenty of torque at both ends of the RPM range, making hauling feel effortless. The addition of a manual 14-speed transmission offers versatility, but gear shifts feel slightly stiff in colder conditions. Driving this truck feels precise, and braking inspires confidence. Interior storage compartments, though spacious, could use more convenient access points. A solid truck with minor tweaks needed.

I recently took a long trip in my Volvo FH 460. The cabin has decent noise insulation but the seat adjustments need to be refined. Driving visibility, thanks to its mirror placement, is an area of improvement. Overall, it felt reliable after covering long distances.

This truck is a long-haul trucker's dream. A real, powerful, and comfortable machine, it is a provider and a home on wheels. There's nothing more to add, I drive it and enjoy every minute.
